Mary Kellar Lambert

Mary Kellar Lambert, winner of the American Journal of Nursing Scholarship is currently studying for her Masters in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Wake Forest Baptist Health Program. Mary Kellar Lambert came to the nursing profession as a certified middle school science and math teacher and taught for seven years with international schools in Manila, the Philippines and Bucharest, Romania. She also had graduate degrees in exercise physiology and education when she decided to enter the BSN program at the Medical University of South Carolina. After graduating she worked on a labor and delivery unit and in a cardiothoracic unit before returning to school to study nurse anesthesia. She plans to combine all her expertise and become an educator/researcher on surgical mission trips throughout the world.

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by nurses for nurses in 1912, and since then, the organization has awarded over 1,500 scholarships to support the pursuit of advanced degrees in nursing.
NEF’s named scholarships, created with a minimum donation of $50,000, honor and memorialize nurse leaders, from Isabel Hampton Robb to Thelma Schorr to Susan Bowar-Ferres. 100% of donations help to keep NEF scholarships funded in perpetuity; organization expenses are covered by prudent management of NEF’s investments.
