Jana Ryan

Jana Ryan, ISABEL McISAAC Scholarship, is completing her work toward an MSN at St. Louis University in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track and plans to test for her ANCC certification in January. For the last 8 years she has worked full time in public health at a minimum security women’s prison for the state of Oklahoma. Prior to working in corrections, she worked in various areas of acute care to include Special Procedures, Trauma Radiology. ER and Invasive Cardiology. The community where Jana works and lives is a designated rural/medically underserved community. Her future goal is to one day open a local walk-in medical/urgent care center that utilizes a sliding scale for uninsured patients. The center would lessen the burden on hospital Emergency Departments by providing affordable health care for urgent conditions and non-emergent illnesses and injuries.
