Jamal Norman


Winner of the Lucy Perry scholarship, Jamal Norman, started her nursing career after she received her baccalaureate degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse in Louisiana and, while working with medical residents and new graduate nurses, realized she had a passion for teaching. She got her Masters from Grambling State University and currently teaches women’s health there where she is also the advisor for the Grambling State University Student Nurses Association.

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by nurses for nurses in 1912, and since then, the organization has awarded over 1,500 scholarships to support the pursuit of advanced degrees in nursing.
