NEF Scholarship winner, earned her MSN at Yale University in 2006 and an MS in nutrition from the University of Bridgeport’s Nutrition Institute. After working in numerous clinical roles Andrea realized her greatest fulfillment was from teaching and guiding others – patients and student health professionals. Her teaching experiences also motivated her to pursue a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degree online at Chatham University Graduate School of Nursing, in Pittsburgh, PA. While in the doctorate program she is also working as a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner practicing holistic psychiatry in a variety of mental health and primary care settings across Connecticut.

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by nurses for nurses in 1912, and since then, the organization has awarded over 1,500 scholarships to support the pursuit of advanced degrees in nursing.
