Tuan Le

Tuan Le, MBA-HA, RN, AMB-BC, is the recipient of the Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing, New York Alumnae Association/Sylvia Barker Scholarship from Nurses Educational Funds for the 2026–2027 academic year. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration at Frontier Nursing University (FNU), where he is preparing to become an advanced practice nurse dedicated to improving access to high-quality, culturally responsive healthcare.

Tuan began his nursing education by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing with honors from Highline College. He later received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Washington Bothell. He also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Community Health & Education from Seattle Central College and a Master of Business Administration with additional concentration in Healthcare Administration from Eastern University. His interdisciplinary education in nursing, community health, healthcare administration, and organizational leadership has shaped his commitment to advancing health equity through clinical excellence, community engagement, and systems-level improvement.

Before entering nursing, Tuan witnessed the challenges faced by patients with limited access to healthcare while observing care at an oncology hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. These experiences, combined with his passion for science, human connection, and community service, inspired him to pursue a nursing career centered on compassion, advocacy, and health equity.

As an RN and board-certified ambulatory care nurse, Tuan has dedicated his career to caring for diverse and underserved populations. He has worked in community health, ambulatory care, and acute care settings, with a strong focus on culturally responsive, patient-centered care. In his previous role as a Lead RN at International Community Health Services in Seattle, Washington, he supported AAAHC accreditation preparation, developed evidence-based outpatient nursing triage workflows to support new-to-specialty nurses transitioning into ambulatory care, coordinated clinical operations, and mentored fellow nurses.

Tuan chose the FNP program at FNU because of its mission to prepare compassionate nurse leaders who improve healthcare access, particularly among rural and underserved communities. Through his FNP education, he aims to expand his ability to provide comprehensive primary care, promote disease prevention, and address social determinants of health across diverse populations.

Looking toward the future, Tuan plans to practice as an FNP serving underserved communities while pursuing leadership opportunities to improve healthcare systems, strengthen nursing practice, and advance health equity. He hopes to combine his clinical expertise, community health background, and business education to bridge direct patient care with organizational and population-level change. He also aims to organize and lead community health initiatives that address the needs of underserved populations through health education, prevention programs, and improved access to healthcare resources.

Receiving the NEF Scholarship is a profound honor and affirmation of Tuan’s dedication to nursing leadership, lifelong learning, and service to the community. The scholarship represents not only financial support for his graduate education but also the trust and recognition of nursing leaders who share his vision of creating a more equitable and compassionate healthcare system.
