Carly Turner


Carly Turner who won an NEF Scholarship, began college focused on a career in graphic design but in her junior year changed her major and went on to earn a BSN degree. Her first job was in the neurological ICU at Johns Hopkins and later as “travel” nurse, she worked in New York City, San Diego, and Los Angeles. After finishing her travels she returned to Johns Hopkins to work with a critical care transport team. She decided to continue with her nursing education and obtain a graduate degree. Currently she is attending the family nurse practitioner program at the University of Maryland. She eventually would like to work in the primary care and preventative medicine field treating both pediatric and adult patients.

NEF’s only purpose is to provide nursing scholarship assistance to make graduate level nursing education possible. NEF is the largest, single, private, professionally endorsed source of funds for advanced nursing study with over one hundred years of service to and for professional nursing.

NEF’s Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from nursing, education, technology, and business communities. Members donate their time and talent to the advancement of the nursing profession. NEF operates with exceptionally low overhead. NEF employs only one individual who serves in several capacities.
