Abraham Brody


Abraham (Ab) is currently a third year doctoral student and John A Hartford BAGNC Scholar at the University of California San Francisco School of Nursing. He began his education at New York University where he graduated with a B.A. in Biology. While at NYU, he worked at the John A Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing where he learned about nursing and geriatrics and decided to enter into the field of Geriatric Nursing. He then entered into an accelerated M.S. program at UCSF, where he obtained his R.N. and later completed a M.S. with a dual major in Health Policy and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. His current research interest is in improving end of life care in the nursing home setting. His doctoral study will examine modes of care in the nursing home and how they affect the quality of care provided at the end of life. During his nursing career, Ab has worked as a clinical nurse in inpatient general medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care, and has been a lecturer and clinical instructor at San Francisco State University School of Nursing, teaching first semester nursing students.
