NEF Scholarships are for Master's and Doctoral degree study in Nursing. Should you have any questions or concerns about the Application, contact the NEF Office at 212-590-2443 for assistance.
Requirements
The following criteria must be met for eligibility:

Master's Students
- Enrolled full- OR part-time in a professionally NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Completed at least 12 credits of the program
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.6

Doctoral Students
- Enrolled full- OR part-time in a doctoral program in Nursing or a nursing related field
- Completed at least 12 credits of the program
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.6

Proof of current citizenship is required. If you are in the process of becoming a United States citizen, you are eligible to apply. You will be asked to upload a copy of one of the following acceptable forms of identification as proof of citizenship:
- The biographic page of your United States Passport
- Your Birth Certificate
- Your Naturalization Certificate from the USCIS
- National professional nursing association membership - you will be asked to upload a copy of your membership card
Instructions
Please click the link below to begin the online application process. You can save information submitted and return to the application by signing-on with your user name and password. Note the Status Message on the right which indicates your application is in process and when complete. Also note the Navigation/Checklist which gives you easy access to each section of the application process. When you open the online Scholarship Application you will be asked to:
- Provide the e-mail address for three individuals whom you have asked to submit Reference Forms. An e-mail will be automatically sent to these individuals providing a link for submitting their references for your application. Three references are: academic, employment, other.
- Upload a Personal Essay and Goal Statement. The suggested length of the essay is approximately 800 words. Your essay should state your professional goals and assess your potential for making a contribution to the nursing profession. Essays are rated on identification of your long-term goals, evidence of potential to meet these goals, and the clarity of your statements.
- Submit a $20 application fee via PayPal
- In addition, you will be required to submit official transcripts directly from the colleges/universities you have attended to the NEF Office at the following address:

The deadline for all application material including references and transcripts is March 1, 2010.
NB: If you intend to move anytime before NEF's May selection period, provide the new address in the event that you are selected as a scholarship awardee. It is of utmost importance that all applicants keep their contact information updated and current.
